Is it your time to be a change maker? Join us for FreshStart, which continues in it 18th year of inspired congregational leadership in the Diocese of Los Angeles. As a national program FreshStart began in the early 1990s. In 2013 the diocese of Los Angeles became a leader in expanding FreshStart programming to embrace clergy and lay leadership groups.
The ultimate goal of FreshStart is centered around organic conversations engaged by leaders listening for the prompting of the Spirit for the rekindling of healthy church life. The current program has four parts; for those New to Cure, for those Newly Ordained, for Deacons, and for Lay Leaders. Diocesan leadership expects the first three groups to participate in FreshStart as part of their desire to promote and sustain a healthy system.
The hope is that FreshStart for Lay Leaders will become a place of sharing and growth for all who feel called to walk the journey with all God’s people.
“Congregations that have chosen to take part in the FreshStart for Lay Leaders program find that the clergy of their congregations have knowledgeable and prepared partners for ministry with skills to help guide communities through the changes and challenges of our life in faith. What no one can accomplish alone often becomes possible through the shared efforts of strong clergy/lay team. FreshStart teaches lay leaders how to be part of such a team” (Bloy House News – August 2018).
